Teeth Whitening Tips

Teeth Whitening Tips Online

Teeth whitening has evolved from being for celebrities and models to a normal cosmetic necessity. As the general public has taken on the desire for “celebrity” white teeth many methods and price ranges of whitening products have come to our attention. teeth-whiteningYou don’t have to spend hundreds or even thousands for white teeth as you did just a few years back.

Let’s look at some teeth whitening tips that can save you money and time:

First, teeth whitening swabs. Although not new, the use of swabs to apply a whitening solution to the teeth has made great inroads lately. Not only are these swabs catching the attention of the average person seeking whiter teeth but they have gotten the attention of the celebrity world as well. It seems the main reason for the movement to this whitening method can be placed with two main advantages. The first is that it is rather inexpensive compared to most other systems, with the possible exception of “homemade” bleaches and some over-the-counter whiteners. The second reason is that it is regarded as the easiest to use and requires less time than others. The unusual use of whitening agents and swabs are better described in the blog post below “DIY Teeth Whitening – Swab Applicators”. Next is teeth whitening trays. Normally you would go to your dentist and have a mold of your teeth made and then trays made from the mold. There are a few places that sell “blank” molds that can be heated and push onto teeth to form a mold. The problem with the dentist mold is that it is expensive, probably $400 plus and insurance will not help. The “homemade” molds are not very good and don’t fit to teeth adequately to achieve smooth even whitening.

Then comes whitening strips. The whitening strips have fallen in popularity. The strip is placed on the teeth and held there for a period of time. This is a messy and most of the time poorly effective whitening method. The strips advantage is that they are inexpensive.

Finally the use of blue or laser lights. The use of lights to help and speed the teeth whitening process is growing but still controversial or at least confusing. The system is simply to apply the normal bleaching agent (carbamide peroxide) to the teeth and then place a light that will help to activate the peroxide. This certainly increases the cost of the procedure since the lights are expensive. The resulting whitening shades and longevity from blue lights to “laser” lights can vary just as whether it is done professionally by your dentist or at a salon.

DIY Teeth Whitening | Swab Applicators

We don’t recommend all diy teeth whitening methods. I’ve heard of gargling with a mixture of peroxide and other things. Never tried it. Never intend to try it either. Anyway enough of that.

Why is the swab teeth whitening method different?

Almost all teeth whitening whether diy, over-the-counter, in the office, etc. is done with some mixture of peroxide. And so does Alta White Teeth Whitening. The difference is the application method and other ingredients used to whiten, activate the magnesium peroxide or polish your teeth. The Trial Order comes with 12 applicator swabs, enough for 6 days of whitening. The tips of the swabs are filled with a solution of glycerin, peppermint flavoring, methylparaben, propylparaben and water. You also receive a small jar containing magnesium powder.

To use a swab simply break the seal off the swab’s tip opening the cotton swab end containing the damp solution.  You then dip the tip of the swab into the little jar of powder and apply it to the surface of each tooth. The magnesium peroxide is activated by the liquid from the swab to form a substance that discharges oxygen and lifts stains from your teeth. The powder also contains aluminum trihydroxide, which polishes your teeth.

PhotobucketOther differences include helping to remove plaque from your teeth while doing the whitening. And since the formula acts virtually on contact you don’t need to keep it on your teeth for long each time. Also, you are given a money back guarantee.

The time required for all other teeth whitening procedures is very long. With this diy method you eliminate, among other things, some trips to the dentist and some hours of wearing trays. The Alta White Teeth Whitening is by far the easiest. Click here to get a Risk Free Trial.

Teeth Whitening Methods And Precautions

A person’s smile is the first thing we see. And a beautiful smile even makes a difference in the way people interact with you. A bright pretty smile will make you more approachable and even make you seem more professional or capable. Just as your clothes, your hair, your jewelry, etc. give you a certain distinction, so does your smile.

One major thing you can do yourself to improve your smile and improve your appearance is to whiten your teeth. There are many methods available for teeth whiten that will meet your budget and whitening needs.

Here are 5 teeth whitening methods and precautions:

(1) There are many do-it-yourself whitening kits available depending on your budget and the amount of time you can spend whitening your teeth. It could help you a great deal to consult your dentist as to what types of teeth staining you have. Some teeth discoloration is not going to be corrected with over-the-counter bleaching agents. In fact some brown or gray teeth stains cannot be whitened. In talking with your dentist you should keep in mind that the dental profession as a whole does not endorse the DIY methods. A big part of this as to be that in the office teeth whitening has become a large part of the dental practice and business.

(2) Around half of the people that use teeth whiteners will have some tooth or gum soreness or sensitivity. If you have gum problems or just very sensitive gums you should use caution in the concentration of the whiteners peroxide. If you experience bleeding after you brush your teeth you may have a problem with whitening agents. When it comes to whitening gels, usually the shorter the time or days it should take to whiten your teeth indicates a stronger concentration of peroxide.

(3) If you have caps, crowns or fillings that can be seen when you smile keep in mind that bleaching may not work on these surfaces the same as your tooth enamel. A problem can be if the dentist shaded the cap to match dark teeth then it cannot be lightened. Caps can be replaced with whiter material if this is an issue but that is an expensive solution.

(4) Always follow the teeth whitening products recommendations about after-treatment rinsing. Some mouthwash can hurt the whitening process while others may actually help.

(5) Pregnant or nursing women should not use any teeth whitening methods without consulting with their physician first. All teeth whitening products contain chemicals not normally ingested and caution should be used.

Hope these teeth whitening methods and precautions help.
